Paint

Watching paint dry may actually be interesting after all, especially if one has painted the town red the evening before...now, I did not say that it would be painless or pleasurable, but it may be interesting. I'm afraid literally painting the town red would be rather dull and tedious and would result in a rather monochromatic experience that would ultimately produce a monotonous one. Paint can be utilized to cover blemishes and minor defects, and this holds true whether you ask homeowners or women who perpetually paint their faces, but it cannot be used to cover holes in the walls or moles on the face (at least of the pedunculate variety).  Also, if you figuratively paint the town red I'm afraid there is no figurative color to compensate for the mess; you may may try green to complement but you will just end up with a big brown mess. If one wishes venture into the beleaguered frame of mind of the 'Rolling Stones' and "Paint it Black" so as to blot out the whole maelstrom of colored chaos that they have left in their rearview mirror then they will again be disappointed as this leads mere temporary relief followed by a more compounded problem because now depression and obscurity have been added into the cocktail of emotions. Paint can also conceal and confuse, both literally and figuratively, as fingernail polish can literally fool a pulse oximeter from achieving a clear reading on a patient's fingertip and given that we figuratively paint emotions on our face everyday to conceal true, deep-seated ones.  Some think the primary purpose of paint is to show school pride at a football game while others see it's pivotal use as a way to lure and attract attention from potential suitors to their eyelids, seduced by the alarmingly unnatural yet alluring pale Cleopatra blue. It's also alarming to think highway traffic is usually and for the most part controlled by paint - yes, we obey little painted lines and blinking lights to avoid chaos of the traffic variety (unless one lives in D.C. or L.A., then it is inevitable anyway).  What we must be most careful with is transparent paint, or lacquer. We may think we are being transparent when we are actually just glossing over our problem, diminishing the problem in our minds when the reality is the problem is just the same.  Hopefully this wasn't painting with too broad a brush.
