Failure to Elaborate

I have never edited Wikipedia, but I have half a mind to recently.  Wikipedia’s article concerning ‘Cyrus the Great’ contains a section referencing his ‘Neo-Babylonian Empire’ in which it describes how the ‘Cyrus Cylinder’ artifact found in a Babylonian temple ruins describes how he “repatriated displaced peoples and restored temples.”…What?  That’s all the article can say!  The Jewish historian, Josephus records that Cyrus read, or had read to him, the prophecy containing his name from the Jewish Scriptures in the prophet Isaiah where he is addressed by name, which was written 150 years before he was born!  Call it a self-fulfilling prophecy if you like, but he certainly didn’t arrange for the “refugees” to come to his kingdom initially just so he could send them back and re-build their temple – all to fulfill a prophecy he had never heard of!  He was so impressed with the prophecy that he sent back the Jews to their homeland and decreed their temple be restored.  This wasn’t a political stunt, or move, like many ‘repatriations’, but this was a man who was moved to the core that a prophecy had been written specifically about him a century and a half before his birth.  Wikipedia, you should know better!
